Our Firm
PROVIDING SKILLED AND AGGRESSIVE LEGAL REPRESENTATION THROUGHOUT
WASHINGTON DC, MARYLAND & VIRGINIA
Keith Watters opened Keith Watters & Associates in 1980 to provide diligent legal representation to criminal defendants. For six years he handled hundreds of criminal cases throughout the District of Columbia and Maryland. In 1986 the firm shifted to the representation of victims of personal injury and medical malpractice. Mr. Watters draws on his 36 years of experience to provide clients with knowledgeable guidance and zealous representation.
Our firm is not your average personal injury or medical malpractice firm in the area. We have a strong reputation for aggressive and passionate representation. We have decades of legal experience and a team of highly skilled attorneys who have helped hundreds of clients obtain fair compensation for their injuries. We set ourselves apart from all other law firms in the following ways:
- Trial Experience: Many lawyers try to quickly settle cases and avoid going to court. They will never go to trial during their entire legal career. Unlike these inexperienced lawyers, Mr. Watters has extensive trial experience and is comfortable in the courtroom. He has had over one hundred jury trials in the District of Columbia and Maryland, and has participated in hundreds of court hearings. In addition, he has argued numerous successful appeals in the appellate courts. Mr. Watters knows how to prepare a case for trial and he is not afraid to step foot in a courtroom to fight for you.
- Personalized Attention: You are never treated like a case number at our firm. Our small firm size allows us to focus on each individual case and make every client a top priority. We promptly return phone calls and keep clients up-to-date on all aspects of their case. From the beginning of the case, you will work directly with an attorney at the firm; we don’t pass clients off to legal assistants or paralegals. At our firm, we value quality over quantity.
- Award-Winning: Mr. Watters has dedicated his entire life to pursuing justice for our clients. His experience and passion for helping others has earned him a number of awards and distinctions. Most notably, Mr. Watters was voted Trial Lawyer of the Year in 2010. He has received more than 11 awards from the National Bar Association, including the Gertrude E. Rush Award in 2014, which is given to a select few who demonstrate leadership in human and civil rights and social activism. In addition, Mr. Watters has received numerous awards from the National Association of Black Women Attorneys, the Washington Bar Association, and the Bar Association of the District of Columbia.
